Addressing the 6th International Maritime Conference here in Karachi, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan Navy has the capability to deal with different challenges faced by the country from time to time.
However, dealing with traditional maritime affairs in a better way has become need of the hour, he added.
On the occasion, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zakaullah said that the regional states should now enhance maritime cooperation beyond the traditional spectrum, keeping in view the strategic and economic significance of the west Pacific and Indian oceans.
He added that this conference will aid in understanding different perspectives of the changing socio-political, economic and environmental scenario of these two great oceans.
Earlier, the naval chief also welcomed local and foreign dignitaries, scholars and maritime experts participating in the conference.
