Pakistan prepares to host SAARC Summit in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host the 19th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit from 9-10th November 2016 in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited the leaders of SAARC Member States  and nine observers to grace the summit with their presence and is looking forward to welcome them at Islamabad for which preparations are being made

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has inaugurated a SAARC Summit Cell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The SAARC Summit Cell is headed by Ambassador Amjad Sial, who is a senior diplomat and nominee of the Government of Pakistan as the next Secretary General of SAARC.

The SAARC Summit Cell will closely work with all stakeholders and concerned authorities in Pakistan. It will also liaise with the Member States, SAARC Observers and the SAARC Secretariat for organization of the Summit.
