Pakistan 'A' records fourth win against Kenya

The match, which was deferred by a day on Thursday after Peshawar school carnage, started late due to fog and was reduced to 28 overs a side.

Pakistan batted first and scored 224-5 in 28 overs. Opener Mukhtar Ahmed played an impressive 87-run knock off 62 balls which also included 11 boundaries and two sixes. Iftikhar Ahmed also scored 50 runs off 55 balls. The duo put 145 runs on board for the first wicket partnership.

Skipper Fawad Alam lost his wicket without scoring a single run. Nelson Odhiambo and Emmaneul Bundi Ringera took two  wickets each.

Kenya in response scored 106 runs losing nine of their wickets in 27.5 overs. Eleventh player Jimmy Kamande was absent hurt. Nelson Odhiambo top scored for the side with 22 runs.

After failing with the bat, Fawad Alam captured two wickets. Mukhtar Ahmed also took two wickets bowling only five balls. The suspended spin maestro Saeed Ajmal bowled six overs in the match and returned with bowling figures of 1-23.

The two teams will again face one another in the last match on Saturday, December 20. Pakistan ‘A’ is now leading the five-match series 4-0.
