KARACHI: Pakistan has released 221 Indian fishermen today from Landhi Jail, Karachi, ARY news reported.
According to official sources, the fishermen were released as a goodwill gesture and they would be handed over to Indian authorities via Wagah Border.
The fishermen were arrested for violating territorial waters of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency in the Arabian Sea.
Spokesman for Edhi Foundation said the fishermen would be brought to Lahore through train and Edhi Foundation will bear all the expenditures in this regard.
Edhi Foundation also presented gifts and cash amount to the Indian fishermen.
