Pakistan strongly condemns detention of Hurriyat leaders

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has condemned the treatment of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik who is under the custody of Indian forces.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria, in a series of tweets on Saturday evening, said that the country condemns the treatment of arrested Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik.

He added that Malik’s medical condition is deteriorating and is admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The FO spokesman stated that Hurriyat leaders Ali Geelani & Mirwaiz Umar Farooq remain in illegal detention & so does Kashmiri women leader Asiya Andrabi.

He also condemned the killing of 22-year old college student Javed Mir. Zakaria said that the deceased was not involved in any political activities.

“Unarmed & part of no protest, Javed was sole breadwinner of his family”, Zakaria said.

Zakaria said that Pakistan condemns Indian occupation forces’ genocide, crimes against humanity & blatant violations of human rights of Kashmiris in occupied-Kashmir.
