Pakistan terms Indian allegation of Pakistan’s involvement in Uri attack irresponsible

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday termed Indian Home Minister’s allegation of Pakistan’s involvement in Uri army base attack as unfounded and irresponsible, ARY News reported.

Spokesman Foreign Ministry Nafees Zakaria said world’s attention was focused on what was going on in Indian Occupied Kashmir and voices were raising from every corner of the world against Indian atrocities on Kashmiri civilians.

“India’s state terrorism has claimed over 100 lives of innocent Kashmiris in the held valley, while thousand others are injured. Over 700 Kashmiris have lost their eyesight,” he said in a statement.

He said United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has also expressed concern over barbarism of Indian forces.

Just hours after a brazen attack on the Brigade Headquarter in Uri area of Indian Occupied Kashmir, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh has accused Pakistan of being responsible behind the attack.

Seventeen Indian soldiers were killed during a pre-dawn attack on the heavily fortified army base which houses of soldiers located 100 kilometers west of Srinagar. This is the worst such attack for years in the restive region which has brutal repression and other atrocities.

Singh cancelled his upcoming trips to Russia and the US and said that he had apprised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the attack. In a series of tweets, Singh called Pakistan a ‘terrorist country’ which must be isolated. He said that he was disappointed that Pakistan continues to support terrorist organisations.
