Pakistan women take 1-0 lead against Sri Lankans in Sharjah

Pakistan women recorded a convincing five-wicket win against their Sri Lankan counterparts on Friday in the first ODI match of the three-match series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.  

Chasing a modest total of 178 runs, Pakistan reached the target with five wickets in hand in 48.4 overs. Marina Iqbal batted impressively for Pakistan and scored 69 runs. Nida Dar played an unbeaten knock of 37 runs. Inoka Ranaveera bowled well for Sri Lanka and captured three wicket haul.

Earlier, Sri Lanka scored 178-8 in 50 overs. Skipper Chamari Attapatu (49 runs) and Dilani Manodara (43runs) batted well for Sri Lanka. Pakistan captain Sana Mir and Sadia Yousuf both captured two wickets for Pakistan.

The two teams will again clash on January 11 and 13.
