Pakistani athletes shine in Special Olympics 2015

LOS ANGELES: Three Pakistani athletes taking part in the Special Olympics 2015 stood on the podium after winning their respective competitions.

Pakistan’s first gold medal of the summer olympics came in 100 metre free-style swimming as Asim Zar emerged victorious in M-14 Division.

Zar became the first Pakistani athlete to score a medal in the special olympics’ history.

Aqsa Ahmed Janjua bagged the silver medal in 50 meter women’s freestyle relay while Salman Siddiqui won the bronze medal in 500 meter time trial cycling.

Uzma Yousaf came eighth in 500 meter women’s time trial cycling and Tauseef Hassan claimed the eight position in 5,000 Time Trial Divisioning cycle.
