Kamila Shamsie
Kamila Shamsie the daughter of renowned literary journalist Muneeza Shamsie wrote her first novel ‘In The City By The Sea’ in 1998. The novel earned her enough recognition that within a year she was honored with Prime Minister’s Award for Literature in Pakistan. The lady has so far written seven novels that includes the popular Salt and Saffron and Kartography. She has also won the Patras Bokhari Award for her novels Kartography and Broken Verses. She is an international acclaimed novelist who got selected as one of Orange’s 21 Writers of the 21st century.
Mohsin Hamid
Mohsin Hamid is a Pakistani novelist who has got an international recognition by his writing. Mohsin has written three books so far Moth Smoke, Reluctant Fundamentalist and How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia. Moth Smoke got published in 2000 and it became a cult hit in India and Pakistan where people can easily relate to the story, the book was also praised in New York Reviews of Book. The writer’ true success was The Reluctantant Fundamentalist a story of a man who decided to leave America after 9-11 attacks. The book became a best-seller and reached the top 4th niche in New York Times Best Seller. This novel received some awards also like Asian American Literary Award, Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and got shortlisted for Man Booker Prize. Mohsin Hamid was named in world’s 100 leading Global Thinkers by Foreign Policy in 2013. He also contributes as a journalist in international newspapers like The Guardian, The Washington Post and The New York Times.

Fatima Bhutto
