Pakistan’s indigenous drone hunts down terrorists in dark hours

PESHAWAR/RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s indigenous armed drone ‘Burraq’ on Thursday carried out an air strike in South Waziristan resulting in killing of scores of militants, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan very own unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carried out precise strike on terrorist hideouts in South Waziristan, for the first time in dark hours.

The night-time strike resulted in killing of several militants in the restive north-western tribal region.

Only a few countries in the world possess the UAVs capable of hitting the targets during night-times.

On September 7, Pakistan had made first ever use of Burraq and carried out a successful strike on a terrorist compound in Shawal.

The strike had resulted in killing three high profile terrorists.
