Pakistan’s military spokesman condemns Sabeen Mahmud’s murders – says intel agencies tasked to assist probe to find killers

Pakistan’s military spokesman Major-General Asim Bajwa has said that intelligence agencies have been “tasked to render all possible assistance” to investigating agencies for the apprehension of the killers of Sabeen Mahmud and to bring them to justice.

The Karachi-based rights campaigner, entrepreneur and owner of the The Second Floor cafe, was killed by unidentified men on the night of April 24 as she returned home with her mother after attending a seminar at the cafe on the issue of missing persons in Balochistan.

The director-general of ISPR also condemned the “tragic and unfortunate killing” and added that “our heart goes out to the bereaved family at this sad moment”.
