According to details, the first round of talks between PALPA and the federal government were held on Sunday at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) office in Islamabad.

Prime Minister on Aviation Captain (Retd) Shujaat Azeem represented the government while Captain Amir Hashmi led the PALPA entourage.

Captain Hashmi, speaking to media after the meeting, said that he wanted the issue to be resolved however the second round of talks will be held on Monday (tomorrow).

It should be noted that not a single representative of PIA was present in the meeting.

The government delegation tried to contact PIA Chairman repeatedly but he could not be contacted after which they ensured that the demands and reservations of PALPA will be raised with the chief of the national airliner.

Shujaat Azeem said that the PALPA delegation only discussed the working agreement. He added that a single pilot has double the work load whereas there is no training for the young pilots.
