He had earlier given an interview to the CNN, claiming that he had met Pakistan’s finance minister at a meeting in Washington.
But, he has ‘clarified’ his version, saying it was Mr. Masood who was sitting next to him at the meeting.
Ivan Zarak was asked by a journalist who visited him in relation to the Panama papers’ controversy to which he claimed that Pakistan’s finance minister had held a meeting with him.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, in a statement, rejected Zarak claims of meeting Dar and termed it baseles and unfounded.
The spokesman said that Dar had cancelled his visit to Washington where he was due to participate in the World Bank/International Monetary Fund spring meetings from 14-17 April, 2016. “How could Ivan Zarak meet the finance minister when the latter has not even left Pakistan in the last many weeks,” questioned the spokesman.
