PAT gears up for anti-govt protest on Jan 17

PAT leader Dr. Raheeq Abbasi, in a statement, said that the government did not provide justice to the party over the Model Town Incident despite that six months have passed.

At least 14 PAT activists were killed in violent clashes with Punjab Police on 17th June, 2014 at Model Town area of the historic city.

The first stage of the anti-government protest will start from Lahore on 17th January i.e Saturday.

It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be holding a “Dharna Convention” against the incumbent government on 18th January in Islamabad.

Raheeq Abbasi also said that a signature campaign will be started against the appointment of Syed Tauqir Shah as the Ambassador of Pakistan to World Trade Organization (WTO). The party has claimed that Shah is one of the characters in the Model Town Incident.

Awami Tehreek leader stated that the party will resort to any means to get justice.
