Model Town carnage: PAT to protest on March 22

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) will stage a protest against the Model Town incident on 22nd March in Faisalabad, ARY News reports.

A party meeting was held here which was attended by the party’s Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri via videolink.

PAT has also decided to write letters to the European Union (EU) and international human rights groups to bring their attention to the issue.

At least 14 PAT activists were killed in clashes with law enforcement agencies at Model Town area of Lahore on 17th June 2014.

Party leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the prime suspects of the incident Rana Sanaullah and Dr. Tauqir Shah are not arrested.

“Dr. Tauqir Shah has been recently appointed as ambassador to the World Trade Organization (WTO)”, Gandapur said.
