PCB chief hints at World T20 clearance for Pakistan

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan on Friday said that India and BCCI has assured security to the Pakistani team for the World Twenty20 (T20), ARY News reported.

Chairman PCB said that Interior Ministry will make the decision of sending the Pakistan side to India for the World T20.

West Bengal government has also guaranteed security to the Pakistani squad for participating in the tournament. However, no written statement has been given by the India as yet.

Sources have said that the team is expected to get the clearance today.

The fate of the heavily anticipated World T20 game fell uncertain after Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh had refused to guarantee security to the Pakistani team for the tournament.

It should be noted that International Cricket Council (ICC) had shifted the high voltage Pak-India World T20 game from Dharamsala to Kolkata after

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, on Thursday, had said that Pakistan team would not leave for India unless the Indian officials assure them full security.
