PCB issues show cause notice to five players including Afridi

KARACHI: Five of Pakistani international cricketers including Shahid Khan Afridi have been served show cause notices for featuring in an advertisement without Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) consent, ARY News reported.

PCB has issued show cause notices to Anwar Ali, Fawad Alam, Muhammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Shahid Afridi for appearing in a TV commercial of a private company that manufactures electronic items.

PCB has also sought explanation from cricketers for working in an ad without the permission of board.

PCB spokesman said that players having central contract are not allowed to work for an advertisement without the permission of the board and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) has been mandatory for that.
