PEMRA asks cable operators to restore ARY News

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has directed all the cable operators to restore the transmissions of ARY News in the light of court orders, ARY News reported.

According to details, PEMRA issued a notification on Wednesday directing countrywide cable operators to restore the transmissions of ARY News, as per the court orders.

Following the directives by the regulatory authority, cable operators restored the channel to its previous position.

Meanwhile, CEO ARY News, Salman Iqbal expressed gratitude for the Sindh High Court (SHC) for revoking PEMRA’s decision of suspension of ARY News license for 15 days.

He said that we have always respected the judiciary.

Mr. Iqbal also thanked journalist bodies, politicians and members of the civil society for supporting the largest media house of the country, in this difficult time.
