Pemra probes suspension of ARY News’ transmissions in Lahore

ISLAMABAD/LAHORE: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has kicked off investigations of suspension of ARY News’ transmissions in Lahore and said that action will be taken against those responsible, ARY News reported.

ARY News was deliberately taken off air in several areas of Lahore as anchorperson Arshad Sharif started to present details of businesses owned by Hamza Shahbaz, son of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, in program Power Play.

Political leaders strongly denounced the suspension of ARY News’ transmissions.

Taking notice of the suspension, Pemra said officials are investigating the matter and action will be taken against the ones found responsible.
