‘People below 25 not to be issued arms licence’

ISLAMABAD: A meeting, presided over by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, on Monday decided that arms licenses will not be issued to any person below 25 years of age, ARY News reported.

The meeting was held to review arms license policy in Islamabad today.

It decided that license holders must get their licenses renewed by the end of this year; otherwise their licenses will be cancelled.

The interior minister said the record or arms licenses will be maintained by the help of National Database Regulatory Authority. Nisar said laws pertaining to arms licenses were misused in the past.

“The date for renewal of arms license will not be extended,” highlighted the minister.
