Peshawar imambargah attack case filed

PESHAWAR: The case of Peshawar Imambargah attack was filed on Saturday under terrorism charges, ARY News reports.

More than 20 people were killed when Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants attacked Imamia Mosque at Hayatabad area of Peshawar during Friday prayers.

Terror charges have been filed against TTP militants Umar alias Naaray and other attackers by the Counter Terrorism Department on the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) Hayatabad police station.

It should be noted that Umar is also wanted by the security agencies over the attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School.

According to investigation agencies, the attackers had entered the area through the border region adjacent to Hayatabad.

Two suicide bombers had blew themselves up whereas one was gunned down during the exchange of fire.

The investigators have recorded the statements of eye-witnesses of the incident and the injured persons.
