Four militants opened fire at a police patrolling van at Northern Bypass. The policemen retaliated with counter fire and killed an attacker while other three escaped from the scene, police officials said.
SSP Operations Mian Saeed has said that the slain attacker Ma’amoor was wanted in several attacks on police in the city.
Police has started strict search on the entry and exit points of the city in search of the fleeing attackers, the SSP further said.
