Petition filed in LHC against inflated fares of private airlines

LAHORE: A petition was filed at Lahore High Court (LHC) against the private airline companies over hiking of air fares following the protests of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees against the institution’s privatization, ARY News reported.

Lawyer Mohammad Imran, in his petition, stated that the private airlines mafia is exploiting the PIA privatization issue for its nefarious objectives.

It was also mentioned in the petition that the private airlines mafia was behind the enduring protest of the PIA workers.

The petitioner pleaded to the court to order the Civil Aviation Authority for taking back its decision of hike in air fares and take action against the airlines over their inflated rates.
