Petition in LHC seeks judicial probe of Mustafa Kamal allegations

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of a petition till March 17, seeking formation of a judicial commission on the allegations of estranged MQM leader Mustafa Kamal, ARY News reported.

A single bench comprises of Justice Shahid Waheed heard the petition filed by Barrister Ali Gillani.

The petitioner has said that the estranged leaders of MQM have levelled serious allegations against the party chief and sought formation of judicial commission to find the facts of the matter.

The petitioner also said that those levelling allegations are co-accused of the case. The statements and allegations of Mustafa Kamal are confession of the crime, the petitioner said.

He pleaded to the bench to form a judicial commission to inquire into the matter. He also sought keeping the names of all existing and former leaders of MQM in the exit control list (ECL) till the commission decides the matter.

The court adjourned the hearing till March 17 and allowed the petitioner to attach the relevant excerpts of newspaper reports with the petition.
