PIA cancels flights to Bangladesh in protest

DHAKA: The Pakistan International Airline on Friday canceled all of its schedule flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh till 10th of March to register their protest.

The decision to this effect was taken to protest the humiliation and harassment of PIA’s county manager in Dhaka.

The government on Thursday had asked the Bangladesh government to clarify the harassment of the staff of Pakistan International Airlines in Dhaka.

According to Foreign Office: “Our High Commission in Dhaka has taken up the matter with the Bangladesh Foreign Office. We await their explanation and response. This indeed is an unfortunate development,” FO Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said during a media briefing.

Different reports suggested that the residence of PIA manager in Bangladesh, Ali Abbas, was searched a few days ago and his family members were being harassed.
