PIA fined in UK over airhostess’s travel documents

LONDON: London immigration officials on Sunday imposed a fine of 2,000 pounds on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) over violation of rules, ARY News reported.

The fine was imposed as PIA flight PK-785 was carrying an air hostess bearing an expired passport. The London-bound flight took off from Islamabad.

The London immigration officials also arrested an air hostess and issued notice to the PIA for violation of rules. They asked the PIA to strictly ensure complete documentation of all passengers and cabin crew aboard the plane in future.

They warned the PIA that any person found travelling on illegal/forged or incomplete documents to Britain will be banned from entering the country.
