According to sources, a meeting of the Board of Directors has been convened in this regard on Friday 30th September which will make the decision. Mr. Hildenbrand has previously served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the national airline.
He is currently receiving a salary of $12,000 but has demanded to receive a pre-tax salary of $30,000 and other fringe benefits. It may be noted that per PIA rules, an Acting CEO cannot receive any increment in salaries or any other perks and privileges.
It may also be noted that Hildenbrand has been appointed in contravention of necessary rules and regulations, and the matter of his security clearance has not been resolved.
Sources revealed that he is set to receive the massive increments on the directives of the Prime Minister. The move is surely gping to increase pressure on the loss-stricken national airline.
The German national Hildenbrand has served for Lufthansa Airlines for about 40 years before he appointed by the PIA in an attempt to revive its future prospects.
