Rs 8 million shoes donated to PIA cabin crew

KARACHI: The cash-strapped Pakistan International Airline is experiencing one of the embarrassing situation as the national flag carrier has ran out of funds to buy its cabin crew much-needed uniforms and shoes, ARY News reported.

According to our correspondent, officials are being recruited on a heavy pay-scale while the cabin crew staff is facing neglect at the hands of high-ups.

But in a surprising development, former chairman PIA Chaudhary Ahmed Saeed has donated Rs 8 million for new shoes of the cabin crew members. He made this announcement at a ceremony held the other day in Lahore.

Secretary aviation Muhammad Irfan Elahi has thanked the ex-PIA chief for donating an amount.

Chairman PIA Azam Sehgal was also quick to praise Saeed for his open-hearted donation. He said: “Mr. Chaudhary Ahmed has set standards in serving those who work dedicatedly in the organization.”
