Pilgrims barred from carrying Aab-i-Zam Zam home

ISLAMABAD: Pilgrims, travelling to Pakistan after performing Umrah/Hajj in Saudi Arabia, wouldn’t be allowed to bring Aab-i-Zam Zam back home, ARY News reported Sunday.

Under the agreement between Pakistani and Saudi authorities, the pilgrims will be provided with 5-litre Aab-i-Zam Zam (the holy water from the well of Zam Zam) can to each pilgrim after their arrival in the country.

The Well of Zamzam is a located within the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, 20 meters off the Kaaba, the holiest place in Islam.

It may be noted here that millions of pilgrims visit the well each year while performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages.

Millions of pilgrimages bring cans of the holy water for their friends and families.
