Pilots ‘call in sick’ just two hours before flight

KARACHI: Increasing differences between the national flag carrier and Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA) seem not to end any sooner, while an aviation official today also exposed the nonprofessional attitude and stubbornness of pilots, ARY News reported.

The official through his Twitter account unveiled the names of pilots who called in absence only two hours before the departure time, leaving PIA and the passengers stranded.

He also drew attention of media for its criticism of Aviation Division and presented a copy of the letter in which the President Palpa Captain Amir Hashmi was asked to attend a meeting at Aviation Division Islamabad to discuss Palpa issues.

Nazir in his next tweet mentioned the PIA pilots who sent there medical certificates asking for sick leaves presumably under influence of PALPA.
