Pizza Hut, other restaurants fined and sealed by Punjab Food Authority

Under its impartial head Ayesha Mumtaz, Punjab Food Authority continued its practice of clamping down on restaurants such as Pizza Hut and even Palillos for failing to maintain proper hygienic standards.

According to Facebook posts from the Punjab Food Authority’s official page, Pizza Hut was fined and given a warning due to presence of starch in ketchup. Also, in violation of the standard hygiene rules, ice cream and meat were kept in the same freezer.

Palillos was fined due to a number of reasons, among them being the presence of leftover food in freezers and no labeling or expiry date being mentioned on bakery items.

Earlier this month, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had also awarded Punjab Food Authority Director Ayesha Mumtaz for her efforts in ensuring hygienic conditions were met by restaurants. Ayesha Mumtaz had earlier taken strict action against PC Lahore, Avari hotel and Fat Burger for supplying unhygienic food to customers.
