PM orders for safe evacuation of countrymen from Yemen

During the meeting, PM Nawaz was briefed about the plight of expatriates stranded in Yemen.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the first phase of the evacuation. He ordered the concerned authorities to ensure safe return of remaining stranded Pakistanis from conflict-hit Yemen.

A high level Pakistani delegation headed by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has left for Riyadh today to hold talks with Saudi officials in the wake of current crisis situation in Yemen.

Before departure, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan wants peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen. However, he said that Pakistan will not tolerate any harm to territorial integrity and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia.

The high level delegation includes Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, Deputy Chief of Air Staff Operations, Vice-Marshal Mujahid Anwer, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Kaleem Shaukat and Chief of General Staff Lieutient General Ashfaq Nadeem Ahmed.
