“Why should we go home on your clamours. Don’t demand something that doesn’t fit your face,” he strongly retorted to his critics and rival political leaders – particularly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, at a rally in Bannu.
The PM made an announcement to build international airport in Bannu, drawing huge applause from the crowd. “You can go to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore and everywhere from here. This is the Naya Pakistan.”
He also shouted Naya Pakistan slogan during his speech more than couple of times and that was followed by the same chants from the crowd.
He said provincial had been ruling for three years, and asked the people “Has there been a new KP, new north waziristan or any real change.”
We are here to create new Bannu, he said.
‘PML-N could have made new KP’
The prime minister stated that his government was not elected in Bannu, “but there are some seats of Maulana Fazlur Rehman while some belong to PML-N.”
I am disappointed to see old hospital, roads here in the district, he underlined.
He told the supporters: “You would have witnessed rise of new Khyber Pakhtonkhwa if PML-N government was elected here.”
PM Sharif remarked that his government was about to make history in the district.
Without naming his opponents, he fired broadsides saying “your elected leaders don’t even bother to come here. They kept on whining about rigging and staging sit-ins, but Supreme Court rejected their claims in its verdict.”
He slammed detractors for “declining to say sorry to Pakistanis for their rigging claims.”
“We are now in the Supreme Court to face and respond to claims of hate-mongers.” He reiterated that he would go home without a second’s delay if any corruption charges were proved against him.
PM Sharif said his opponents would soon know about the strength of their rivals.
‘International airport announced for Bannu’
He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor would give financial benefits to Pakistanis. He said load-shedding would completely end in 2018.
He also stated to build university in Laki Marwat. He announced Bannu Industrial Zone, Karak and Kohat industrial zones with a grant of Rs 200 million to give employment to people.
