PM, Army Chief discuss steps for economic corridor security

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in a meeting here discussed national security and steps for security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, ARY News reported.

Army Chief briefed the Prime Minister about the internal and border security of the country in the meeting at Prime Minister House here.

The PM and the COAS also discussed measures to ensure security of the strategic economic corridor project from Gwadar at Arabian Sea coast in Balochistan to Kashghar in China.

The Army Chief also briefed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about current situation at Sialkot Working Boundary.

Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also called on Nawaz Sharif and discussed with him the security situation in the country.

The Interior Minister apprised the Prime Minister about his meetings with the British leadership during his recent visit to the United Kingdom.
