PM chairs meeting on national security

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the federal cabinet’s committee on national security has been underway with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair, ARY News reported.

The high level meeting discussed Operation Zarb-i-Azb and the overall security situation of the country.
Recent ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) and working boundary between Pakistan and India would likely to be discussed in the meeting.

At least 12 persons were killed in the ceasefire violations by the Indian forces, while scores of others were injured in the cross border firing.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and others top officials attending the meeting.
