Govt decides not to accept resignations of MQM members: sources

According to sources, the government would send a delegation to the MQM members to convince them take back their resginations.

The government, sources said, has so far not in mood to accept resginations of the MQM members.

The members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday tendered their resignations from the National Assembly, Senate and Sindh Assembly over the party’s reservations about Karachi operation.

The government after earlier indecisiveness with regard to the response on the resignations, came into action and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar started contacts with MQM leaders to settle the issue. According to some reports, Dar also assured the MQM leaders to address the reservations of the party.

Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Asif Ali Zardari, has also directed Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to convince the MQM leaders for taking back the party lawmakers’ resignations from the provincial assembly, party sources said.

A meeting of the PPP leaders likely to be convened next week to discuss the implications of the resignations of MQM MPAs.

These guys have made a mockery of the rules and laws that they are supposed to be the guardians of. First it was PTI and now MQM. Pakistan political system has become a laughing stock. During the PPP government MQM resigned and joined back a million times. Here again, it seems, mukmuka and self-interest have been given a higher precedence over the law. How come PMLN, PPP and hypocrites like JUI-F claim to be the guardians of democracy when they only use it in their interests. Pakistan can only thrive if the black sheep masking them as political parties are eradicated from the political system. On one hand MQM has been labeled as murderers and bhatta party while on the other our Government is ready to pander to their desires so that they join back. We can see why they say that democracy is the best revenge. Our nation and our people have been plundered and ravaged in the name of saving democracy. God bless this nation!
