PM critical of 'negligence' in power projects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said those responsible for unnecessary delay in the completion of power projects should be ready for accountability.

He was chairing a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Energy in Islamabad on Tuesday. The PM said all possible measures were being taken to curtail load-shedding.

Chairman WAPDA Zafar Mehmood briefed the meeting that about seventy per cent work on Neelum-Jhelum Hydel Power project has been completed.

The prime minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure timely completion of power projects.

Mr. Sharif said provision of electricity to people on affordable rate was priority of the government.
