PM departs for Switzerland to attend WEF meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday left for Switzerland to take part in the World Economic Forum (WEF).

According to Radio Pakistan, PM Sharif will attend the four-day meeting — which starts from Tuesday — on the invitation of the executive chairman of the economic forum.

The Pakistani premier will also meet heads of states and governments and business leaders, attending WEF, on the sidelines of the forum.

Sharif is also expected to meet the new Secretary General United Nations Antonio Guterres and Swiss President Doris Leuthard in Davos.

The prime minister will also address top business leaders on “Investing in Pakistan: The New Reality”.

He will also attend a round table meeting in which the Prime Minister will share the details of economic changes taking place and the vast opportunities for trade and investment in the country.

It should be noted that World Economic Forum will be attended by more than 3200 participants, including heads of states, top business leaders, public figures and leaders from the media and academic fields.

The theme for the 2017 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting is “Responsive and Responsible Leadership”.
