According to ARY News, a three-member bench of the apex court headed by Acting Chief Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja hearing the case at Quetta Registry of the apex court also recommended constitution of a larger bench, for hearing of identical petitions.
The bench observed that petitions seeking the premier’s disqualification had raised constitutional questions for which the court’s verdict was necessary.
It also highlighted the need of the legal interpretation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. The bench said that it was important to figure out whether or not Prime Minister Nawaz maligned the country’s armed forces.
The court also recommended to appoint senior lawyers Raza Rabbani, Hamid Khan and Khawaja Haris as the court’s assistants.
