PM expresses satisfaction over Navy’s operational capabilities

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday evening observed the Pakistan Navy fleet on the concluding day of naval exercises Sea Spark 2015 and witnessed multiple naval ships and units performing tactical maneuvers in the North Arabian Sea, ARY News reported.

During the yearly exercises, Pakistan Navy demonstrated its combat readiness and performed a series of naval warfare operations against conventional and non-conventional threats faced by the country.

On the occasion, officials briefed the premier about the exercises and navy’s operational capabilities to ensure peace within Pakistan’s territorial waters.

PM Nawaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction over operational capabilities of the Pakistan Navy stressing on the need to remain vigilant with regard to external and internal threats faced by the country.

Upon his arrival at Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Nasr, the prime minister was welcomed by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah.

Earlier in the day, PM Sharif felicitated the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali and participated in the function organized by the Hindu community during his visit to Karachi.
