PM firm not to surrender to resignation demand

ATTOCK: While underlining that he has been elected as premier by 180 million people of the country, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said he could not resign on clamour of mere 5,000 people, ARY News reported.

“How can we be blamed for election rigging when we were not in power at the time of polling,” said the PM while addressing a ceremony in Attock after inaugurating an oil well. The well is being constructed with cooperation of Oil and Gas Development Limited.

The prime minister, in an indirect reference to PAT and PTI leaders, said some forces were creating obstacles in development process of the country.

Mr. Sharif said signing of agreements in power and other sectors between the Chinese president and Pakistan was planned; but chaotic political situation prompted him to call off the visit.

He reiterated his vow that the PML-N regime would endeavour to wipe out load-shedding issues in next three to four years from the country.
