Sharif is expected to brief the world body and the international community about serious situation in occupied Kashmir and serious human rights violations by Indian forces in the territory.

The prime minister will also highlight the need to resolve the longstanding dispute.

Pakistan’s prime minister is expected to address the UNGA session where he will likely to highlight the Kashmir issue. He has said that it is an obligation for him as the Prime Minister of Pakistan to be the voice of the people in Indian-Occupied Kashmir.

He will likely to highlight the denial of right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir.

Nawaz Sharif is also expected to point out Indian interference and sabotage activities in Pakistani territory.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the General Assembly session, has met the prime ministers of Japan and Britain and President Recep Tayyeb Erdogan of Turkey.

Nawaz Sharif will also hold important bilateral meetings with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, President of Iran Hassan Rouhani and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
