PM Nawaz arrives in Karachi

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Karachi on Friday (today) where he will chair a meeting regarding the overall situation of the metropolis, ARY News reports.

According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a law and order meeting in which the officials of security agencies will brief him about the security situation in the city.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan are also expected to attend the meeting, sources said.

The prime minister will also discuss the developments of the ongoing targeted operations in Karachi whereas he will also  discuss reservations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) regarding the operations in the city.

MQM leader Babar Ghauri had said that Sharif told him that he was arriving in Karachi and will meet the family of the party activist Sohail Ahmad, who is said to be killed extra-judicially.

It should be noted that a shutter-down strike was observed in Karachi on Thursday over the alleged extra-judicial killing of the party workers.
