TOP NEWS

It should be noted that the country descended into darkness on Saturday night after a power transmission tower was blown up by terrorists in Naseerabad district of Balochistan.

The prime minister along with Federal ministers will sit to discuss strategies as to how the power crisis in the country can be addressed.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and briefed him about the power breakdown in the country.

Asif said that the power supply to the entire country was affected by three terrorist attacks in the past 10 days. He also added that saboteurs targeted a gas pipeline on Friday night that was fixed 13 hours later by the gas company staff.

The water and power minister further said that the power crisis in the country took place due to a fault in Uch power plant and over-loading of Guddu power plant.

PM Sharif had instructed Khawaja Asif to complete the maintenance work as soon as possible.
