PM Nawaz chairs national security meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing a meeting of National Security Committee at Prime Minister House on Friday (today), ARY News reports.

The civilian and military leadership of the country will discuss the violations at Line of Control (LOC). It should be noted that 38 Pakistani civilians have been killed as the result of Indian force’s consistent violation of the LOC ceasefire.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafique Butt, Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah alongwith Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mehmood have been present in the meeting.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Pervez Rasheed, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and other key officials are also present in the meeting.

The security officials will brief the meeting about the casualties and financial losses sustained by the country during the cross-firing incidents between the two forces.

A two point agenda is also likely to be finalized in the security meeting whereas key decisions are also expected to be taken as well.
