PM Nawaz to attend CASA-1000 project’s inauguration in Tajikistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for Tajikistan on Wednesday (today) to take part in the launching ceremony of CASA-1000 Power Project.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and other officials will accompany PM Nawaz on the visit.

The prime minister has been invited to the ceremony by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. He will meet Tajik leadership to exchange views over the international and regional issues and the matters of mutual interest.

Pakistan will receive 1000 megawatts of electricity under the CASA-1000 Project. The project will be completed by 2018.

The power project will link Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
