Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has decided to hear the pleas against the Registrar office objections over the petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) seeking disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reported.

The PTI and JI had filed separate petitions in the apex court seeking the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister of the country following the Panama Leaks disclosures.

Registrar of the apex court had rejected the petitions by declaring them non-maintainable.

Sources said that Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali will hear the pleas of both parties against the Registrar office objections over their petitions from Tuesday in a chamber.

Panama Papers’ controversy or Panama Leaks as it is being reported, has caused quite a stir around the world. The documents reveal off-shore companies and bank accounts owned by world leaders, politicians and famous celebrities around the world.
