According to Radio Pakistan, the salient features of the Green Pakistan Programme aims to add 100 million for the next five years in the country.
The provincial and national agencies and ministries have been advised by PM Sharif to take the most effective measures for preserving wildlife and forests.
The main features of the green programme include development of immediate and long term forest expansion plants along with the assessment of forest depletion and use of modern technology.
The Ministry of Climate Change has been directed to devise a proposal for strengthening the Zoological Survey of Pakistan.
The concerned authorities have been directed by the premier to revive and manage the internationally recognized wildlife habitats which include Khirthar National Park in Sindh, Margalla Hills National Park, Khunjrab National Park in Gilgit and Chitral Gol National Park.
