PM takes notice of four slain policemen in Quetta

Police have boosted security and cordoned off the areas where the incidents of terrorism took place to track down the suspects.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed to hunt down the perpetrators behind the killing of police personnel.

In a statement, he called upon the provincial government to devise an effective strategy in consultation with the Interior Ministry to deal with the recent wave of attacks on the personnel of law enforcement agencies in the province.

He expressed immense grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives of security personnel and directed the concerned authorities to ensure best medical treatment for the injured.

Both the incidents of terrorism took place within span of three hours. Two policemen were shot dead, while on their way to Saryab in a private vehicle, in the first incident. The victims were identified as Naeem Akhter and Syed Muhammed.

Sources said a passerby was critically injured in the incident. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.

The other incident took place in Hazar Ganji area. Two unknown assailants riding a bike opened fire at the car of SHO Shalkot Javed Buzdar killing driver and gunmen, however the SHO remained safe in the deadly attack.
