PM vows to give legal cover to fighting soldiers

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attended a meeting of his aides with regard to enforcement of the National Action Plan.

Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt, Barrister Zafarullah and Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Khawaja Zaheer attended the meeting.

Sharif directed the working groups to submit their plan for enforcement within three days.

Prime Minister while speaking in the meeting said that the soldiers fighting against terrorism will be provided a constitutional and legal cover.

A preliminary draft of the constitutional and legal amendments submitted to the prime minister in the meeting.

The prime minister directed his aides to share the amendments with other political parties and take their feedback.

An executive meeting of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) was summoned on December 31st, on directives of the prime minister. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali will chair the meeting.

The meeting will discuss the ways and means to made the authority functional immediately.
